What details do you need to give me a quote?

We simply require the linear footage (the length of fence you need), the duration of time you think you will need it for and the location where it is going (i.e. address). We’ll also ask if you need a drop-off or if you would like to take advantage of our complete installation and dismantling service.

Do you make site visits?

As long as we know the linear footage, rental duration, delivery location and whether you need a drop-off or install, we can provide you with an accurate quote right away. Our crews have a combination of over 100 years of experience setting up fencing in all situations. If you still feel you would like a crew to do a site visit, please call our office to make an appointment.

I’ve given you the square footage of my space. Why do you need the dimensions?

The first thing we’ll ask is if your space is a perfect square, or if you know at least the width or length of the property… Why, you ask? Isn’t the perimeter of an area always the same no matter what the area? That would surely make things simpler but the fact is, spaces with the same area, will have differing perimeters depending on the shape of the space. Following are some examples. As you can see, depending on the shape of the rectangle, the perimeter and quantity of fencing can vary widely.

Can I transfer my rental to a new company?

Yes! If you are changing contractors or moving to a new phase of construction, keep your site secured by transferring the rental to the new site owner. Once the original account is settled in full, we can transfer of rental responsibility from one company to another. The Transfer Request form must be completed by both the existing customer and the customer to which the rental is being transferred. The transfer will take effect once the form is completed and the existing account has been settled in full.

When will my fence be delivered?

Deliveries generally take place Monday to Friday between 8 am and 2 pm but your delivery time will depend on how many deliveries are scheduled before you – if any.  If you require service at a particular time, please book your fencing as far ahead as possible to ensure we can schedule you at your required time.  Of course, your delivery time can be impacted by factors out of our control, such as weather and traffic delays.

Do you have fences higher than 6′?

Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requires “if work on a project may endanger a person using a public way, a sturdy fence at least 1.8 meters in height shall be constructed between the public way and the project.” (O. Reg. 213/91, s. 65) Since the OHSA requires 6’ high fencing, most of our inventory is this standard height. We do have an inventory of 8’ high fencing available. Please call the office to inquire about availability.

Is it better to rent or buy fence?

That depends. For short-term projects, it is often more cost-effective to rent fencing, however if you have a long-term project or plan to re-use fencing again and again, purchasing may be more suitable to your needs. Whether you rent or buy is likely to depend on a number of factors: the availability of cash, the length of your project, the frequency with which you use temporary fencing and your company’s ability to manage inventory.
