CLEAR THE WAY – If fencing must be carried or driven through your site to the installation location, be sure the route has been cleared of snow so our installers can easily and safely access the area.
INSTALL SECURELY – Winter weather can bring snow and gusty winds. Where there is a risk of toppling from wind, temporary fencing should be stabilized by setting up in a zig-zag fashion, installing perpendicular panels or using stabilizing t-posts at regular intervals. Our professional installers are experienced installing fencing in challenging sites in all weather conditions.
USE SAFE GROUND STANDS – Our flat ground stands are far superior to pipe feet for preventing pedestrian trips and falls, particularly when they may be obscured from view by snow and ice.
KEEP THE FENCE LINE CLEAR – Large accumulations of snow and ice piled up next to your fence can cause fencing to lean and compromise its safety, endangering passing pedestrians and vehicles. Keep your fence line as clear as possible, and never dump plowed snow next to a temporary fence.
SCREENING AND SIGNAGE – The addition of privacy screening and signage can increase the chances of your fence toppling in high winds. If you choose to install screening or signage, always ensure your fence is standing securely first.
INSPECT REGULARLY – Regardless of the type of fence you use, it is important to inspect your fence regularly to ensure it is stable and safe.
